Q. What is Instaproof?
A. Instaproof provides an easy way to verify the provenance of any data. If the data owner has registered their data on DataTrails then you can use Instaproof to instantly show that your copy has not been modified and where the version that you have fits into the history of the data.

Q. How can I test Instaproof?
A. We have sample files at datatrails/instaproof-samples that you can use to test Instaproof.
Q. How can I use my own file?
A. Create an account on DataTrails and then use the "Register Document" page to create an asset using the document profile that can be verified with Instaproof.
Remember to set "Attest Publicly" to "On".
Q. I've signed up but my verification code hasn't arrived.
A. We are aware that some email providers are treating the DataTrails code verification email as spam, please check your spam/junk folder.
Q What do the results mean?
A. The first result shows you all the document records that match the document that you are checking. The results are separated into those from tenancies from Verified Organizations and other (unverified) tenancies.
If you click on a result you will see the details and version history for your document.
"Event History" allows you to switch between different document versions of the document.
The "Attributes" tab contains custom attributes that the document owner has associated with the file.
Q. What is the difference between ‘Results from Verified Organizations’ and ‘Other Results’?
A. Results from Verified Organizations are data matches from DataTrails tenancies that have a verified domain name associated with them. Other Results are from other anonymous tenancies.
Q. What is a Verified Organization?
A. A Verified Organization is one which is using an DataTrails paid tier and who have a Verified Domain Name associated with their DataTrails tenancy. DataTrails has carried out checks to verify that the tenancy is registered to the domain name owner.
